Hood Rush… another movie threading upon the musical genre path just as its predecessor Inale did. It’s great seeing producers embracing other forms of genre and not the straight jacket romance, comedy and laughable action/thriller flung in our faces. What is worth doing, is worth doing well! and producer/director Dimeji Ajibola unveils such in his movie “Hood Rush”.
The movie stars the likes of golden lady Bimbo Akintola, OC Ukeje, Gabriel Afolayan, Chelsea Eze, and Ijeoma Agu. Hood Rush revolves around Shez and Tavier (brothers) who dream of becoming music stars, and why not?. They’ve got the looks and the talent, but the lowly state in which they find themselves in, while living in the ghetto and struggling to survive, daily makes that dream unachieveable. They’ve been denied access to the basic needs of life, no small thanks to the menial jobs they engage in.
Now all that can change based on a talent hunt show that automatically opens the door of stardom and can make them live their dreams. They seek to participate and hopefully win the competition… but the ghetto monster continues to hold on to them like a leech, making them vulnearable to the beck and call of the upper class…
Hood Rush is a production of Flipsyde Studios and hits Nigerian cinemas 12th of October 2012!
