The film is an epic love story set in Nigeria in the 60’s and inter-weaves the lives of four people caught up in the turbulence of the Nigerian civil war. Half of a Yellow Sun was shot in the Tinapa Studios, Calabar and in various locations in Creek Town, and employed several hundreds of local residents. The bulk of the funding came from Nigeria, with large numbers of Nigerian cast and crew. The success of the Film at the cinemas will require the support of all Nigerians, to ensure that filmmakers/producers who want to make quality based films “telling our own stories” can access the required funding.

The Nigerian Premiere is proudly sponsored by Etisalat, the Wheatbaker Hotel and Arik Air. All roads lead to the Cinemas and their respective chain sites on April 25th: FilmHouse, Silverbird, Genesis, Ozone and Kada. It certainly is going to be an outstanding film…and we dare say classic….hmm we can’t wait to watch it…what do you think?
