Set in ancient West Africa, Aṣẹ́ tells the story of three teens who run into Elemosho, an evil spirit. The short film unveils the ancient city of Oyo, the heartbeat of the growing Yoruba empire, coupled with the spiritualism thrived upon.
It was directed by Nabila Lester who’s based in LA, was shot in Ogbomoso, Oyo State and stars Segun Olawale, Joy Kure, Emeka Celestine, Mary Chukwu, and Rabi Usman. Aṣẹ́ is meant to herald a historical fantasy TV series, which is currently in the developmental stage.
