Head Gone, a movie by the brothers, Lanre Fasasi (Sound Sultan) and Dare Fasasi (Baba Dee) have been slated for theatrical release in December 2014. The movie which was directed by Dare Fasasi, parades stars such as Alibaba, Zack Orji, IK Osakioduwa, Basketmouth, Tuface Idibia, Papi Luwe, Peter Fatomilola, Eniola Badmus, Basorge, Sound Sultan, Akpororo, Wale Ojo, Saka, Baba Dee, amongst others.
Termed as the comedy of the year, the movie is exciting with good cinematography, and a unique story. Head Gone unveils a group of mentally ill patients on transfer to the Abuja facility. By a stroke of misadventure some of the tagged men escaped into the larger society, thereby opening a vista of mistaken identities. It explores sub themes like maladministration, corruption, professional misconduct, bad leadership amongst others.
Head Gone is a reflection of the globally accepted truism that there’s a thin line between sanity and insanity.
On the other side of the city a gang prepares an armed assault on its clueless victim. Somewhere else a group of prisoners get transferred to another prison. Bizarre and hilarious situations and scenes arise out of the clash of the psychiatry bus with the armed robbers, their victims and the prison transport.
The movie takes an ironic and amused look at the socio-political framework of Nigeria. Rather a satire than a comedy, this work sheds light on existential questions of the human condition. It casts a long pondering look at mental illness and on what we perceive as crazy and what is not.
This is indeed a movie that we can’t wait to see… what do you think?
