Ghana’s Sweetheart Juilet Asante: To Release Silver Rain in Naija Cinemas!

Highly rated movie, Silver Rain, was written and directed by Ghana’s sweetheart, Juilet Asante. It stars Joselyn Dumas, Enyinna Nwigwe, Elikem Kumordzie , Uru Eke, Belinda Baidoo, Chumani Pan. The Cast were selected from five African countries ; South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and Sierra Leone.

It tells the story of Ajoa, a ‘Kayayo’ street girl from Accra, who meets Bruce, the rich heir of the Timothy fortune. Their friendship sets into motion a class war. Ajoa struggles to cross the class divide and find love, Bruce struggles to find himself. Together, they must brave the turbulent political times, as well as the social barriers, that may just be their undoing…

Silver Rain was shot on RED with the Director of photography from SA, Nate Thomas, (one of the best D.O.Ps in sub-Saharan Africa) using Ghana and South Africa as locations. Juliet Asante, holds an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School, A Diploma from The New York Film Academy and a B.A from the National Film & Television Institute of Ghana (NAFTI – Legon University) & Cape Coast University.

One of the most important path to achieving this, is through the making of pan-African movies that leverages on our collective strengths as a continent! Silver Rain opens this door and calls on other players in the industry to push it wide open!”
